What is Forensics?

For those of you new to “forensics,” we do not study cadavers or medical procedures. We engage in the art and study of argumentative discourse used in public speaking, debate, and courts of law.
Why join the team?

The Forensic Program has many developmental and learning opportunities from which students may benefit, whether the focus is in debate, public speaking, performance, student congress, or simply improving communication skills. Students with desire and drive have the opportunity to travel with the Wildcat Forensic Team to competitive tournaments, workshops, and festivals.

Guyer’s Forensic Team competes in University Interscholastic League,Texas Forensic Association and National Forensic League competitions. Our tournament season runs from August to June, with opportunities for students to compete in local, regional, state, and national tournaments.

The handbook contains important information about the upcoming year. Please read through it carefully in the next few days so that you can become familiar with the policies and procedures of our program. Keep it handy for reference when necessary.

Students competing have recieved all forms necessary for competition. No student will be allowed to compete until forms are on file.

If you are new to the Wildcat Forensic Team, welcome! We are continuing to build a quality program that works in cooperation with the Guyer Fine Arts Department to provide excellent opportunities for our talented students. We are looking forward to another outstanding year. Your commitment and effort will be rewarded as you enjoy the benefits of improving your communication skills, meeting new people, and having fun!
