{Rudy Rodriguez} Background

               Serving in various capacities throughout the district, his leadership and in-depth knowledge of the education system has proven to be an asset to Denton ISD. He brings more than 40 years of work and experience in education and has received numerous awards for his service and expertise. Dr. Rodriguez earned a doctorate in Educational Administration from University of New Mexico, a master’s degree in Community Education from Central Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Texas A&M University/Kingsville.

               As a native Texan, Dr. Rodriguez has resided in Denton since 1975. He has three children, all of which are Denton ISD graduates.

               Dr. Rodriguez has supervised TWU and UNT education students for tutorial support at Borman Elementary and Calhoun Middle since the early 1990s. He has also supervised instructors for parent education to help parents of children at the former Sullivan – Keller School and later the Ann Windle Early Childhood Education Center.

               Dr. Rodriguez is a former founding member of the Denton Public Education Foundation and continues to serve on the Denton ISD Education Improvement Council.
