Meet the Director- Jonita Widmer , RN, BSN, NCSN

Welcome to the Health Services Website.
My name is Jonita Widmer and I am the Director of Health Services and Employee Wellness. My husband and I are the parents of 5 children, including our son-in-law, all DISD graduates, and have watched this community and district grow. Denton is our home, along with 2 Australian Shepherds, Rowdy Jake and Callie Jake,. We enjoy spending time at the lake with our family and supporting Texas Tech athletics.
Denton ISD students are fortunate that Dr.Braswell and our Board of Trustees understand the need and value of placing and maintaining a Registered Nurse full time on every regular campus. Each campus nurse is a professional who places value in the health and well being of each student and staff member on the campus. The nurses are here to care for your student and to assist your child to make healthy choices. The nurses partner with their campus team to create a safe and healthy environement for your student. The DISD nurses believe that healthy students make better learners. We want your child to be physically and mentally fit to assure success not only in the classroom but throughout life.
