It's been awhile since I posted to this blog, but I've been busy exploring how I can use some Web 2.0 tools to help make the Library Services website more helpful. It's not ready for prime time yet, but I've been working on redoing my lists of web links using Del.icio.us. I have started a Twitter account and imbedded a widget on our page for users to get district library news, tips on good websites, what are the hot titles in our schools etc. I found a WorldCat widget and have been building the summer reading lists, so students can check to see if any of those titles are available in a library near them.
So, my next exploration will be using one of the services where I can schedule Twitter posts. It's kind of exciting to know my efforts will make our site more relevant and interactive for our community.
Do you have any cool tools you have used on your webpage that you would recommend?
