Our Motto:

According to the TEKS, students, as early as kindergarten, are expected to use pictures, print and people to gather information and answer questions. As they progress through school, they are expected to become more proficient in searching and evaluation of resources. Denton ISD provides a variety of resources, in many different formats, to assist in this critical thinking skill.

The mission of Library and Media Services is to ensure that library resources and services are a vital part of every students' continuous learning experience. Our library system mananges over 554,100 items district wide, for student and teacher use.

"School Libraries are Critical for Student Achievement. From Alaska to North Carolina, more than 60 studies have shown clear evidence of this connection between student achievement and the presence of school libraries with qualified school library media specialists."
