The Department of Operations is composed of approximately 646 employees.  We maintain nearly 4.3 million square feet of building space and over 753 acres of property.   We operate and maintain equipment including school buses, service trucks, tractors, mowers, forklifts, and trailers.  We transport approximately 14,000 students each school day on 144 school buses, and travel over 1,700,000 miles each year.  Our school cafeterias serve approximately 15,000 meals each day.  Our district is now composed of (21) elementary schools, (2) early childhood centers, (1) school for young children, (6) middle schools, (4) high schools, (1) AEP school, Central Services Building, Service Center Annex, Technology Building, Central Services Annex, Special Education Building, Advanced Technology Center and the Natatorium and Football Stadium at the C.H. Collins Athletic Complex.  Our District is growing rapidly each year, and with this growth comes new and exciting challenges.  The Department of Operations is an integral part of the Denton ISD professional team and also a vital link in our commitment toward excellence with kindness.
