This will be my tenth year as the Theatre Director at Harpool Middle School. We have been very fortunate to have had incredible success over the years within our department, both with our musical productions and within UIL One-Act Play. Prior to teaching at Harpool, I served as Associate Director of Theatre at Denton High School. In past summers I have been fortunate and honored to direct in various camps in the DFW area including The Perfect Performance and StarPower. I also serve as a Contest Manager for High School UIL One-Act Play in the spring. In addition, I'm an active member of the Denton theatre community serving on the Production Board for Music Theatre of Denton for several years and have enjoyed both working as an actor, director, and producer for several productions.
On a personal note, I am blessed to be a wife and mother of two fantastic kids! My husband, Travis, is the 8-1 U.S. History teacher here at HMS. He is very involved in the theatre department and is truly my better half! Emmy, our daughter, is a beautifully creative artist who will be in 4th grade. Our son, Ty, will be in 1st grade this year and is just a ball of delightful energy! As a family we love to cook, travel, watch movies, build epic blanket forts together, and just spend as much quality time as possible with one another making memories.
I feel very fortunate to do what I do and relished every moment of teaching, as well as the continual process of learning as an educator. Albert Einstein said that "Learning is not a product of schooling but the lifelong attempt to acquire it." I am a firm believer in this philosophy. Being a teacher has afforded me the opportunity to pursue my art form while instilling a love of theatre in others.
