    Meet Mrs. B !!!


    Christine Martin-Beutner is blessed to be a native of the state of Iowa (that's where the tall corn grows !), where Music has always been a vital part of public school education.   She counts her musical experiences in Iowa with Doerle Rowley (K-6 general music), Jack King (Sudlow Jr. High Band ), Milton Anderson (Davenport Central HS Choir ) , and Byron Zesiger (trumpeter and church band director - and her grampa !! ) as being the best possible foundation a musician could have !


    Christine has operated a private studio  teaching flute, voice, and piano for over thirty -five years.  She has held positions too numerous to mention in Iowa and Texas as soloist, director, coach, teacher, and adjudicator. Christine is also an in demand performer as Mezzo Soprano, Actress,  Flutist, and Piccoloist.


    Higher Education 

    • Bachelor of Music degree (Cum Laude) from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa: double major in applied flute and voice


    • Master of Music degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas:  applied flute with music history and conducting minors.


    • Flute and piccolo master classes with Mark Sparks, Robert Stallman, Walfrid Kujala, and Julius Baker, amoungst others.
    • Flute instructors have included Karen Anderson, Irene King, Janet Stodd, Walter Haedrich, the team of Betty Bang and Roger Mather,  and Dr. Mary Karen Clardy. 
    • Vocal studies have been almost exclusively with Lois Larabee, coaching with the late Dr. Jack Roberts.


    • Certification to teach Pre-K-12 Music in the state of Texas
    •  Level I Certification from the Kodaly Institute of North Texas.



    Current professional memberships include the Texas Choral Directors Association, American Choral Directors Association, Texas Music Educator's Association, the Organization of American Kodaly Educators, and Kodaly Educators of Texas .

    She is a past member of Music Teacher’s National Association, Denton Music Teacher’s Association, the National Flute Association.  

    Past board positions include Denton Music Teacher’s Association, DancExpress, Denton Bach Society, and the Texas Flute Society.

    She is very proud of her husband and three great kids - all of them singers!

    So WHY is there a John Deere harvester on my page??  Why, because I'm from IOWA, of course !!!!   And - my dad worked for John Deere designing plows and planters for over 30 years.  He and his design team revolutionized the corn planting industry!!!  I'm Iowa Proud of my dad's work.  OOOOHHHHHH, there's nothin' half-way about the Iowa Way to treat you ! (you get one of Mrs. B's Best Brownies in the World if you can name the song AND the show that lyric belongs to! )
