Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! I am very excited to be at Providence this year where our theme is "Providence Patriots on the Road to Success".

I am here to support all students and in that regard I will be visiting every classroom on a regular basis to provide age-appropriate lessons. In September our focus is on the virtue of respect and what that looks like at school, at home, and with friends. In early October we have been discussing making good choices as an extension of responsibility. We have also explored the rights children have and the corresponding responsibilities that go with rights and priveleges. (For example, Children have the right to a good education and the responsibility to learn as much as they can and to help others learn.)  Later in October we will be examining the differences in bullying and peer conflict and what each of us can do to make Providence a safer and more civil place. My sincere hope is that you will take time to talk about these things with your child.

I am happy to talk with parents about concerns you have about your child and am happy to provide a list of community resources when those are needed. At school, I offer small groups for students who are experiencing a range of issues which effect their school performance. Feel free to contact me to discuss this. You can reach me at 940.369.1900.

    Sincerely,
Rhonda Banks, M.S., LPC-S, CSC, NCC
