• READING INTERVENTION
     
    Reading intervention is a program geared for students in grades 3-5 and designed to support students who are reading or comprehending below grade level. The program is designed to improve reading skills such as word attack, vocabulary development, and fluency, as well as a variety of comprehension strategies through a guided reading small group approach. The goal is to gradually release the responsibility for becoming a proficient reader back to the students as they progress to achieve their specific grade level.
     
    Assessment is a very important ongoing component to diagnosing each student's reading skills. The ELI/SELI and DRA are all instruments used in determining proficient reading skills in the primary & intermediate grades.
