    Architecture and Construction

    Architecture and Construction career fields include thecreative and detailed drafting of architectural designs with a focus on anenvironmentally friendly outcome. Students learn how to create architecturaldesigns using board methods prior to learning the same methods using the AutoCAD computer program. For the more active and outdoor-oriented student, theconstruction fields that include the execution of blueprints into a finishedproject or home becomes the focus. Students entering into these fields must beable to ensure well and do math functions with relative ease. Student organizations for this area include Technology Student Association (TSA) or Skills USA, which provide opportunities for leadership development andcompetitions to enhance the learning experience.

    Advanced E- green architecture begins to prepare the studentfor a career in the architectural field. The learner will use advanced AutoCADprinciples to draw and design several residential structures of differenthistorical influences.  Environmentalgreen materials and applications will be studied and applied to these designsas a continuation of 21st century technology.  The student will learn safety procedures ofall equipment used to build architectural models for TSA competitions.  Active and passive solar energy applicationswill be researched and applied to the final design of all plans.

    Practicum students will have advancedprojects that transcend a traditional classroom. Students will work on E-Greendesign problems modeled to meet university standards. Advanced environmentalgreen materials and applications will be studied and applied to these designsas a continuation of 21st century technology.
