Hello, I am the Special Education Diagnostition at Navo this year. I am excited about the opportunity to ensure the growth of students academically, socially and behaviorally. I believe that parents are a child’s biggest advocate and all students deserve our greatest effort.

I earned my undergraduate degree from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota, 1994, and now have 15 years classroom teaching experience. I began my career in Green River Wyoming teaching High School Special Education. We had a full inclusion program there and I was privileged to Co-Teach alongside highly skilled English, Biology, Science, and History teachers.

Since moving to Texas I have worked 8 years at Decatur High School, at first in the Content Mastery Center and Resource English, then as a Life Skills Teacher and Vocational Coordinator. One of the reasons I moved to Texas was to earn a Master's Degree which I received in 2005 from Texas Woman’s University. I hold a teaching degree in South Dakota and Wyoming. In Texas I am certified in Special Education K-12, Educational Diagnostician, and Technology.

I believe that life is made up of choices, and that natural consequences help students develop into life-long learners and productive citizens.
