• My two Boys!    My two boys! Easter Sunday!
                                                                        School Days!    The ESTRADA'S       DNA
    Welcome to Science!!
I am Sabrina Estrada.  I had my humble beginnings in the Panhandle of Texas.  I am from a little town outside of Amarillo called Hereford, Lots...Lots...and Lots of cattle.  I come from a LARGE family.  I am the oldest of thirteen children, so being surrounding by kids all day comes naturally to me.  : ))
I attended West Texas A & M University in Canyon, Texas.  There, I received a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies of Science and Physics.  I am always searching for more "Science" knowledge, so I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Educational Psychology and Science Curriculum.
I have two boys.  They are great.  They keep me busy, but at times I have to stop and look at the wonders God entrusted upon me through them.  I continually tell myself, "Where did the time go?"  They have grown up so fast.....my oh my, they really have.  Lance has a year and half left in college, while RJ graduated this year and will be starting college (Yes, my baby will be in college).  See me without a "smile", just ask how are the boys, and with a big grin I'll tell you all about them.  You can call me a "Proud Momma!"
I am excited about this year.  I will be on Team 7-1 and the Science Teacher for my team.  I am also one of the Seventh Grade girls Athletic coaches.  I am looking forward to getting to know all of my students.  In my class, we will begin to use "critical" thinking concepts to find and evaluate our science content.  I want my students to enjoy coming to science, to expect the unexpected, learn 7th  grade science according to our benchmarks, be prepared for the STAAR when they get to eighth grade, and have "FUN!!"
In my class we will be very hands-on.  I believe, "If you tell a student something, they may remember, but if you show them, they will never forget!!"  In each of us there is a little of "Einstein", I want to help bring that out.  We will be doing lots of labs, activities, and projects this year.  I believe your child will "love" coming to my class.  Science is where they are "gonna wanna be!"
This is going to be a "GREAT" year!!  In order for any student to be successful, they need parent, teacher, and administration support.  So get ready to join the Estrada adventure of "Positive Thinking!!"  Thanks for allowing me to be part of your childs education.  I don't take this lightly!!  Better students today, makes better people tomorrow!!
Feel free to visit your sons/daughter's class anytime you want.  E-mail me with any concerns you may have or if any questions should arise.  My e-mail is sestrada@dentonisd.org .
    Have a "Great" day!!
"Each of us has a light waiting to shine, let yours shine!!"  ...Sabrina Estrada

    ~Quote to Live By~
" A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. They don't set out to be a leader, but become one by the quality of their actions and the integrity of their intent, leaders are much like eagles...They don't flock, you find them one at a time!!"
