I was born and raised in Denton, Texas and attended Newton Rayzor and Woodrow Wilson Elementary, Strickland Middle School and Denton High School. I grew up as a teacher’s kid and love the experiences I’ve had in our community and the opportunity to give back. I have been married for 5 years to my sweet husband Charles, and we have a daughter Emma who is three which keeps my life as her mom busy and full of surprises. I enjoy helping to teach Sunday School at my church and dinners together with my extended family. In my spare time, I enjoy baking and working on digital scrapbooking and house projects.
This will be my 21st year teaching and my 15th year in Denton ISD. My professional background includes teaching in Lewisville and Denton ISD. I have taught Kindergarten, First Grade, 5th Grade Language Arts, Elementary Library setting K-5 and 8th Grade Reading and English. I have taught at WS Ryan Elementary for 12 years and Calhoun Middle School for 3 years in Denton ISD. I hold a Texas Certification in PK-6th Grade and ELAR 4-8.
I look forward to a great year together.
