    Katie Hart

    Assistant Principal

I am very excited to begin my 4th year at Cross Oaks as the assistant principal. I have worked in Denton ISD for the past 19 years and am beginning year #20!

Prior to becoming a Cross Oaks Owl, I was a science specialist at Borman Elementary for 7 years, worked as an Instructional Support Teacher with the Denton ISD Curriculum Department, and taught 3rd grade at both E.P. Rayzor and Borman Elementary.

I have also presented teacher professional development for Denton ISD over the past 14 years including SALSA (Science and Literacy Saturday Academy), Academic Vocabulary, Science Notebooks, Guided Reading, and the inquiry model.

My degrees are from the University of North Texas and the University of Texas at Dallas, and have been in the Denton area for the past 24 years. Denton is an amazing place to live and work, and I feel honored to be a part of such a progressive and growing district.

Outside of school, I am a mom to two little girls, Addison and Brynnlie. My husband, Patrick, and I enjoy traveling and having fun as a family.

I look forward to working with you and your child. Please let me know if I can support you in anyway.
