Students with a Keep Denton Beautiful sign
McNair was the recipient of a Keep Denton Beautiful grant in March 2009.

We'd like to thank everyone who helped us build the ELA with their time or contributions, including:
    • Mrs. Annamarie Edwards and the Edwards family for six 55 gallon rain barrels. They have also helped us acquire trees for raffle and sale at the Hoe Down. Part of the sales of the trees at the Hoe Down will go toward ELA. Plus they have given time and energy to find ELA some native plants.
    • The McNair Parent Teacher Association for $5,000 to fund the pond and yearly maintenance.
    • McNair Elementary for funding the fencing and maintaining the pond.
    • The Master Gardeners of Denton County
    • The Master Naturalists of Denton County
    • Keep Denton Beautiful for several grants.
    • Lowe's for its Toolbox grant.
    • Fidelity Charitable Group for $1,000 to fund the butterfly garden.
    • Backyard Concepts for their efforts.
    • The students of McNair Elementary for building the pond and raised beds, then taking care of them on a daily basis.
    • The Dad's Club for cleaning the pond and doing various other odd jobs.
    • The McNair teachers for making ELA an important part of our students' learning.
    • The Denton Public School Foundation for several grants.
    • Families and staff who have purchased bricks for ELA.
    • McNair administration for keeping our pond funded yearly.
