    The Mead Family

This is my marvelous family. My husband Todd and I have been married nearly 30 years. We have three beautiful children- Michael (27), Mason (25), and Madison (23). Michael graduated from Oklahoma Christian University, which is the University where my husband and I both completed our undergraduate studies. Michael and his wife Kimberly moved to Frisco, and he currently works for Hope Fellowship in Frisco, TX. Mason and his wife live in Atlanta, Georgia and he is a manager at Chick-fil-a. Madison lives in Fort Worth and is putting her marketing degree to work at Provista in Los Collinas.
We moved to Texas 15 years ago, and I began working with the Denton ISD district under the leadership of Aleta Atkinson at Newton Rayzor Elementary. When Pecan Creek opened, I was hired as a fourth grade teacher. In 2008, I began working on my degree in administration at the University of North Texas. I was blessed to be hired as Assistant Principal  in 2009, by my mentor, Emily McLarty.
My professional path has been a mix of a variety of experiences. I taught both third and fourth grades in Oklahoma for 3 years in the Putnam City School District and 3 years the Edmond Public School District. Between those 2 experiences, we began our family and I worked part time for 8 years as a pre-kindergarten teacher and eventually as the director of curriculum in that program.
I am happy to be an Oklahoma transplant who is proud to call Texas home. I look forward to a long and fulfilling career with Denton ISD.
