Hello, my name is Macey Arel. I will be your child's teacher this year. If you already know me, then you know that teaching is my life. I knew I wanted to be a teacher ever since I was a little girl. I remember when I was 5 years old, I would put all my dolls and G.I. Joe action figures against the wall and teach them their ABC's. Years later, here I am. It is definitely my calling in life.
For those of you that do not know me, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in the suburbs outside of Chicago with my mom, dad and my 2 brothers, but our family was transferred to Texas in 1991 with his job with Frito Lay. I went to school and graduated college from the University of North Texas in 2000. I started teaching kindergarten at Hodge Elementary here in Denton, but was able to open up WS Ryan in 2001. I taught kindergarten for 12 years and 1 year of 3rd grade at WS Ryan from 2001-2014. In 2014, I got the wonderful opportunity open up Dorothy Adkins Elementary! I am lucky to be able to go to my job everyday, and not call it "work". I feel very blessed to be at such a great school with great teachers, with whom I feel proud to call my friends. I believe that a every child learns in their own way and it is my job to figure that out. That is why I am here. I am very competitive at anything I do in life and make sure that I do it to my best ability.I love any and all sports. I play soccer, volleyball, basketball, golf and softball, and I LOVE to watch baseball and football! During the summers, I am a full time mamma and work on my tan. In my "spare" time, I LOVE to go to the movies and hang out with friends and family!
I live in Denton, TX with my husband, Steve, our sweet little girl Isla, and our twins Max and Marley! They keep us busy and filled with laughter! I just love being a mommy!!
We have 1 dog named Gracey, who is always waiting for her mommy to get home from work so she get her playtime.Steve and I enjoy playing softball, working out, traveling, and just hanging out together. He is my best friend and is always there to remind to sit back and enjoy life; it moves pretty quickly.Well, I hope that gives you a good look at who I am. It is a quick glimpse of my past, but I am always looking toward the future and what it will bring. I can't wait to get to know you and make great memories with your children!
Hugs and Bugs! :)
