•  about me
Hello everyone! My name is Kathy Holt. This is my tenth year teaching here at Savannah. I taught first grade for the past 8 years, and this will be my second year to teach fourth grade! It is wonderful to be a part of such a fun, enthusiastic learning community!

I graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Texas in 2006 with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (otherwise known as elementary education). In 2012 I completed my graduate work at the University of Texas at Arlington where I earned a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Literacy Studies. I am a certified Reading Specialist and continually strive to learn more about the craft of teaching to better myself as an educator.

My husband, James, and I have two beautiful children. Halyn Marie will be ten years old in October and will be in third grade at Savannah this year. Jensen James is now four years old and going to preschool.
Our two kids are our everything!

My family and I just moved to Savannah this summer. We are so excited to be a part of this community. We are blessed to have both of my parents as well as my three sisters and brother all living in the North Texas area. We enjoy spending time with them, going to the lake, and playing board games together. I am also an avid reader, though my hectic life usually leaves little time for leisure reading.

I am so anxious to meet each of my new students and their families. I know we will have a wonderful year in which we will all grow tremendously, learn an enormous amount of information, and master many new skills.

    See you soon!
