I went to North Texas State University (now
and was part of the Meadows Foundation’s Scholarship Program for Excellence in Education. Through this program I was able to do internships in Dallas, Garland, and Denton. I received both my Bachelor's of Science degree in Education and my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from NTSU (now UNT). the University of North Texas)I taught at Ginnings Elementary in Denton ISD for 20 years. I taught fourth grade, fifth grade, and kindergarten before moving to EXPO. I was the Ginnings' EXPO specialist for four years before moving to Hawk Elementary when it opened in 2005. This will be my 32nd year with the district, and my 17th year as a gifted and talented specialist.
I am certified in Elementary (1st through 8th), English (1st through 8th), Early Childhood, and Gifted Education. I am also a presenter for gifted and talented staff development for DISD.My favorite past time is to visit bookstores. And read, of course! I also enjoy classic movies, especially ones from the 1930's and 1940's.Sadly, I do not have a green thumb and cannot keep plants alive.
