Hello Hello!I am so excited to be your third grade teacher! This is going to be a great 4th year at Adkins Elementary. I hope you're all ready to be 3rd Grade Aviators!
Here are some fun facts about me..... I grew up in Flower Mound, Texas not too far away from here! I loved this area so much I didn't want to leave. And luckily I married a man who was willing to stay! (My parents are thankful for that too!)I went to college at Stephen F. Austin and got both my bachelors and masters degree from there. I have a degree in Education and Photojournalism/Broadcasting, with a minors in Photography. My masters is in educational administration. I loved going to school in Nacogdoches and am proud to be a Lumberjack alumni! Especially during March Madness!
I'm also an avid Chicago Cubs fan since birth and was on cloud 9 this past Fall when they finally won the World Series for the first time in 108 years!
He is a Firefighter and Paramedic for the Carrollton Fire Department, and is on the DFW Rescue team. He has saved many lives and is very good at what he does, I am so proud of him! We got married a few years later!
Now have 3 wonderful children. We moved to the amazing community of Lantana in 2012 and fell in love with it here. Kylie is turning 13 in September and will be in the 8th grade at Downing Middle School. Matthew will be 7 in August and is in the 1st grade here at Adkins. He is in Mrs. Jenkins' class. And Addison will be 3 in October. She is enjoying her days at home as an only child with daddy and getting into all kinds of trouble!
We love our Community of Lantana and enjoy going to church and participating in activities at Valley Creek Church. I am a part of the Mission Moms program through the community and strive on the concept of raising up the next generation as servants to the Lord. My family brings so much joy and light into my life, and I thank God everyday for allowing me the opportunity to be a mama and wife!
We also have 3 fur babies, that I can't forget to introduce. Joey is my little Malti-poo whom is also a Lumberjack considering I've had him since college! And Hank is a huge St. Bernard/Mastiff mix, weighing in just shy of 130 lbs. They are both very good brothers to their human siblings! We also rescued our first ever cat named Stella. She has the patience of a saint with 3 kids and 2 dogs running around her constantly, but we definitely should have named her Sassy!
My little brother Jeremy and his wife Lisa just moved to Austin from Iowa this Spring. We just found out this summer I have a nephew on the way and we are so excited to meet him this Christmas.
All growing up, I played teacher with him. He was 3 grade levels behind me and I taught him what I was currently learning, so I remind him everyday, that it's thanks me to he was in the honor's classes, got into Texas A&M, and graduated from engineering school! :) He begs to differ!
And these are my wonderful parents who have been super supportive of me during all my sporting days growing up, my college days, when I told them I was marrying a Cowboys fan, helping me successfully raise my children, and in my long time search for my dream job.
