Denton ISD and Bullying Prevention

  • Bullying Prevention

All Denton ISD Campuses work diligently to provide a safe and secure environment for our students. We offer annual training so that our administrators, teachers, and support staff can recognize the signs and symptoms of bullying. Our counselors offer counseling options for anyone connected with incidents of bullying, whether it is a person being bullied, the perpetrator or bystanders.

Each campus has reporting systems in place that include both anonymous and personal reporting options. Each campus has a bully prevention committee made up of teachers, administrators, counselors and parent and student representatives. That committee evaluates the needs of the campus and prepares a plan that includes awareness education, development of clear and consistent consequences, and protocols for investigating complaints in a timely manner. Plans are reviewed at the end of each year and updated as needed so that prevention and intervention strategies are as effective as possible.

Our recommendation is that you report the incident to an administrator at the campus involved. Your information is critical to helping the campus investigate the problem, improve supervision, and deal with cases of persistent misbehavior appropriately.

To report bullying at elementary and secondary campuses,  please download the Bullying Report Form here and turn the completed report into your campus principal. To report anonymously on incidents at secondary campuses, please find the "SafeSchools Bully Report" link on your campus homepage.  Please include the name of the campus where the incident occurred so that we can follow up appropriately.
