• The first thing you must do is fill out a form in the Info Snap Online Registration system. 

    Denton ISD Pre-K Registration will take place
    at Each Pre-K Campus

    In order to complete the registration process, families interested in Denton ISD prekindergarten programs for the 2017-18 school year must bring:

    • Photo Identification
    • Verification of Eligibility
    • Proof of Residency (gas, water, or electric bill, mortgage or lease agreement)
    • Emergency Contact numbers
    • child’s: 
    1. Birth Certificate
    2. Updated immunization records
    3. Social Security Card

    Denton ISD offers state-funded prekindergarten programs for 3- and 4-year-old children whose birthday is on or before September 1st.  Students are eligible if they meet one or more of the following criteria:

    ·      Be unable to speak and comprehend the English language

    ·       Be educationally disadvantaged, which means a student eligible to participate in the national free or reduced-price lunch program

    ·       Be homeless, as defined by 42 United States Code (U.S.C.) Section 1143a, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child's guardian or other person having lawful control of the child

    ·       Be the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority;

    ·       Be the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty;

    ·       Be in, or have been in, the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) following an adversary hearing held as provided by Section 262.201, Family Code;

    ·      Be the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as:  a peace officer under Section 3106.002, Government Code; a firefighter under Section 3106.003, Government Code; or an emergency medical first responder under Section 3106.004, Government Code

    Families attempting to qualify for free prekindergarten programs should be able to provide proof of income (a 2016 tax return or three recent check stubs), proof of current military deployment papers or other necessary paperwork. Registration for free prekindergarten programs cannot be completed without all of the required items. Enrolling students must be 3 or 4 years old by September 1st.
