• Learning Targets

    These are our targets, or goals in each subject for the first six weeks.



    Language Arts
    I can write my name.
    I can write upper and lower case letters, left to right, top to bottom.
    I can write the sounds I hear in words.
    I can label my pictures.
    I can recognize words are represented by print.
    I can demonstrate one to one correspondence between spoken words and printed words.
    I can recognize the difference between a letter and word.
    I can hold a book correctly.
    I can read top to bottom and left to right.
    I can identify the parts of a book.
    I can identify upper case and lower case letters. 
    I can recognize sentences are made of words and separated by spaces.
    I can use a period at the end of the sentence. 
    I can identify and read my sight word wall list.
    I can create rhymes from spoken words.
    I can tell if pairs of words do or do not rhyme.
    I can identify the syllable in a word.
    I can recognize groups of words that begin with the same sound.

    I can learn the procedures and expectations of math workshop.
    I can count objects to five. 
    I can apply math to everyday life. 
    I can communicate math ideas.
    I can identify the parts of a calendar. 

    I can observe and record properties of objects including relative size and mass. (bigger or smaller, heavier or lighter, shape, color, & texture.)
    I can observe and describe weather changes from day to day and over seasons.

    Social Studies 
    I can identify community helpers.
    I can identify purpose for having rules and why they keep us safe.
    I can identify authority figures and explain how they make and enforce rules.
    I can explain why we celebrate the US Constitution.
