The students are presented a problem where they will investigate possible solutions.
Students will investigate the problem and practice previous concepts through hands-on activities, manipulatives and games. They will be working in small groups and independently during this time. While the students are investigating the teacher will be working with small groups.
During this time or the closing the students discuss different solutions, strategies and methods they discovered and justify their thinking about their discovery. The teacher is correcting misconceptions or extending their learning of the concept.
