    2016-17 Eastern Elementary Zones Map

To ensure elementary schools in the eastern portion of the district maintain functional capabilities, Denton ISD is opening a new school, Bell Elementary, for the 2016-17 school year. As a result of its opening, the area south of U.S. 380, west of Navo Road and east of Paloma Creek Boulevard be detached from Paloma Creek Elementary and assigned to Bell. Additionally, an option zone is being created for the area south of U.S. 380 and west of Paloma Creek Boulevard that will allow students currently living in the area to attend either Paloma Creek or Bell. All future students will be assigned to Paloma Creek, however. Additionally, the area south of U.S. 380 and east of Navo Road is being detached from Providence Elementary and assigned to Bell.

To make room for future expansion, the area north of Fishtrap Road and west of F.M. 1385, located in the new Union Park development, is being detached from Savannah Elementary and assigned to Paloma Creek. No students currently reside in this area.

2016-17 Proposed Southern Elementary Zones Map
In the southern portion of Denton ISD, elementary zones will change to make room for expected growth and prevent more families from crossing a busy interstate to reach their elementary school. As a result of this, two areas are being rezoned from Pecan Creek Elementary to Stephens Elementary, and one are is being rezoned from Stephens to Hawk Elementary.

The area south of Pockrus Page Road, northeast from I-35E to Lakeview Boulevard is being detached from Pecan Creek and assigned to Stephens. The Timberlinks at Denton apartment complex is also being detached from Pecan Creek and assigned to Stephens. Additionally, the area east of Post Oak Road, south of Church Street and west of I-35E and South Corinth Street is being detached from Stephens and assigned to Hawk.

The proposed changes within these attendance areas would move fewer than 60 current students from Pecan Creek to Stephens and about 70 students from Stephens to Hawk.
