The 21st Century Community Learning Center, also known as CIS Afterschool, is a grant funded program that serves students and families at Evers Park Elementary School. Students in CIS receive homework assistance, extra hands-on learning, and the opportunity to join an enrichment club. Families and students in the program also receive services such as community resources, family support meetings, and parent events that cover a number of subject such as bullying, money management, saving for college and many others. In addition, students and families participate in college and career awareness event such as the UNT Annual Basketball Game!
The CIS Afterschool program at Evers runs Monday - Friday from 2:50pm-5:50pm. Students are admitted into the program by review of application. All applications are reviewed by the Site Coordinator and further information may be required from parents before students are accepted into the program. Normally this information can be answered by phone or in person. Referrals for the program are also made by teachers, the school counselor and the school administration.
