Second Grade
Welcome to second grade!  The second grade teachers are looking forward to an exciting and funfilled school year.  We believe that an effective key to good teaching is partnering with the student's parent.
Monday Folders-- Monday folders are an important communication tool used to send home weekly information. Please make sure to sign and return the next day.
Newsletter--All second grade teachers publish a weekly newsletter detailing class areas of study and
other important information.
Behavior/Conduct Sheet--- The agenda is a easy parent /teacher daily contact tool.
Students successes as well as problems will be noted. Please check this sheet daily and sign it on Friday.
Home work--Second grade students do homework almost nightly.  Reading, Math, and Spelling are the most common.
Discipline-- Classroom discipline is important to a child's education.  In order to provide a safe and friendly learning enviroment, children will be afforded every oppurtunity to excell. When a child's behavior keeps other from learning, steps will be taken to rectify the problem. Some examples of possible second grade discipline include moving a clip, a note on their agenda, or a  phone call home.
Conference time-- Second grade teachers are usually avaliable from 2:05 -2:45 daily for any questions.  You may also call or e-mail those questions as well.
 
We are all excited to have your children in our classes and we wish them all a wonderful 2nd grade year.
