Welcome
To Our
Outdoor Learning Center
Hodge's Outdoor Learning Center started with an idea, lots of donations, and plenty of elbow grease. Stacey Sturgell, a former 5th grade teacher at Hodge Elementary headed the project and was instrumental in getting the Outdoor Learning Center started in 2004.
With support from other staff and the community, Hodge's Outdoor Learning Center has continued to grow and thrive. The Master Gardener's in the area donated many of the plants including the butterfly bushes at the corners of the patio. And most recently, Frenchy's Lawn and Tree Service donated time and manpower to get the Outdoor Learning Center in tiptop shape for the start of the school year!
We have more plans to expand and grow this year. We are raising money for a fence and making plans and room for new plants. We hope to keep adding to the Outdoor Learning Center so that Hodge students can continue to investigate and learn about nature in exciting and hands-on ways!
