Welcome to the 2012 – 2013 school year. Our Providence Patriots are going to have a great year of learning. In fact, we will be “Wild About Learning” this year! Each grade level will be learning about a different biome which is a complex community characterized by distinctive plant and animal species and maintained under the climatic condition of the region. The hallways are decorated to reflex the grade level’s biome.
This is our 9th year to be part of the Providence Community. It is my distinct privilege and pleasure to continue working with your children and with you as parents. How fun is it that we now have Kindergarten students that were babies when their older siblings were in Kindergarten? We love seeing the students grow through the years.
As always, we want our students to be proud of their accomplishments but we want to take it a step further and let them know that they can set goals in life and accomplish them if they work hard and stay focused on that goal. We learn from both our successes and failures.
We have a fantastic PTA. They work hard for our school and they need you to join and be a part of their efforts. As parents, you can continue to support us by supporting your child and his or her teacher. I encourage you to be as involved as you can. There are many opportunities to volunteer. Many jobs can be done from your home if you are not able to come to school during the day. Just contact our PTA volunteer coordinator or your child’s teacher.
On a personal note, I have been in education 35 years. I was privileged to open Providence Elementary nine years ago and have loved being part of this community. It is my hope that everyone feels welcome when entering our doors. The best part of my day is spending time in the classrooms watching the exciting things going on and to see the enthusiasm on the students’ faces.
Providence Elementary is a positive, happy school where we encourage our students to take PRIDE in themselves and their education. We have a talented and caring staff dedicated to helping the students succeed and enjoy learning. Both the staff and our PTA go above and beyond to provide the best for our students. The PTA is a fabulously active group always working hard for our school.
I invite each of you to come visit our school and be part of your child’s educational experience. Providence Elementary takes PRIDE in Education. Come see for yourself.
