We are excited to offer an opportunity for a test prep program that will help you prepare for the SAT and/or ACT. As juniors and seniors, if you are planning on attending a four year college after high school, you will be required to take the SAT or the ACT for admission. In order to help you prepare for these tests, we have partnered with Sylvan Learning Center to bring you a prep program for both standardized tests. The prep program includes a full SAT and ACT "mock exam" given at Ryan High School, as well as a six course prep program based on individual results. The flyers and registration forms can be found in the counseling office. If you are interested in registering for one or both classes simply fill out the registration form and bring it back to Ms. Lucas, the guidance secretary, in the counseling office. Payment is due when you arrive for the exam and/or first class on the designated date. Please contact Holly Martin (contact information on the registration forms) at Sylvan if you have questions. Dates and times for the "mock exams" as well as the courses are located on the registration forms.
Do you need help requesting a transcript? Doing other things in Naviance? Do you need help filling out College Applications? or the FASFA? Do you need help finding Scholarships? Do you want to meet with your counselor? Well it is time to CaRRpe Diem... College Application for Ryan Raiders Post Secondary for EVERYONE!
High school juniors and seniors planning to attend college after graduation will need to take the ACT and/or the SAT as a part of their application process. Students are strongly encouraged to begin taking these tests by the spring of the junior year. This will allow students enough time to take tests over again before college applications are due in the fall of the senior year. Students may take the tests multiple times in the event that they need/want to improve their scores. Parents/students should explore admissions requirements for any colleges of interest to determine if a specific test is needed to complete the respective application. The test dates for the 2015-2016 ACT and SAT tests are listed on the following link: SAT & ACT Dates for 2016-2017
