Scholarship Information

Welcome to the Denton ISD scholarship information website. Please Click on the "Helpful Links" section to the left to view currently posted scholarships that have come to the District office.  Also visit the scholarship page found on each high school website.

Scholarships and Grants generally are awards that can be based on a variety of achievements such as academic, sports, community service, talents in specific areas.  Some require evidence of financial need, but many do not.

Financial Aid is a term that encompasses loans, work based study, and other financial arrangements that usually require that funds be re-paid.  A helpful link to more information about Financial Aid is:  http://www.nasfaa.org/publications/2009/rntips021209.html

When searching for scholarships or financial aid, don't forget to check with any church, civic or professional groups with which you or a family member might be associated.

Colleges and universities also host financial aid and scholarship pages on their websites and in the forms they send out to prospective students.  In addition, the department in which you are interested in majoring may offer departmental scholarships.  Be cautious if you are approached by anyone who "guarantees" financial aid or scholarships and charges a fee.  There are numerous sites to research free of charge.  For more information see your campus counselor.   This site is for Denton ISD students and parents.
