Dear Parents/Guardians:

To ensure that your child’s state-required immunization records are received and documented accurately for the beginning of school next year, and so that your child may register without difficulty, please follow these guidelines:

  • Make sure your child receives the needed vaccine(s) BEFORE SCHOOL REGISTRATION IN AUGUST. Students without up-to-date immunization records will not be allowed to register for school or attend classes until their immunizations are in compliance with Texas laws and local district policies.

  • As of 2/1/2012 the Denton County Health Department (DCHD) located at Loop 288 in Denton will no longer be able to provide immunizations to any student who has private health insurance.  Only those students with Medicaid, CHIP, or no insurance coverage for immunizations may receive immunizations at the Denton County Health Dept.  You may contact DCHD at (940)349-2900 for their hours of operation and the cost of immunizations.  If you have private health insurance, you will need to call your primary care physician regarding the necessary immunizations.

  • Please do not mail or bring records to the school during the summer. Bring a copy or the original record of immunizations during registration to the school your child will be attending.  If you can make a copy ahead of time, please do so, this will speed up the process.  If you cannot bring a copy, we will make one and return your original record to you.

  •  If you have questions regarding your child’s immunizations, please contact your primary care physician.  The immunization requirements can be found at:

Thank you,
