   Hello and welcome to my website.  Let me begin by sharing a little about myself.  This is my 23rd year in education.  I spent 14 of my 22 years teaching third grade.  I spent 6 years in administration.  For two years, I was an Assistant Principal of a primary and intermediate campus.  After that, I was a Staff Development Coordinator for the same district.  After the birth of my second child, I decided to return to the classroom and I am thankful each day for the decision.  In addition to teaching reading, I teach a class in Education at Texas Woman's University.   
 
     In the classroom, I believe students should enjoy learning.  I make every attempt to teach in a way that appeals to multiple learning styles and allows students to succeed.  I want students to be involved in their own learning, make decisions about their learning, set personal goals, and develop lasting friendships.

     On a personal level, I have been happily married for twnety years to my husband.  We have two children.  Our daughter, Laynee, turns 17 this year and is a junior at Ryan High School.  Our son, Adam, was born almost 9 years ago, attends 3rd grade right here in Denton ISD and makes us smile daily.
     Finally, I have a blog page set up under the "Tell Me your Thoughts" link for the kids.  They are always welcome to post a response.  A new posting is added every month.
