Hi, My name is Melanie Stolfus and I love being your school counselor at E.P. Rayzor. I have been at E.P. for eight years and look forward to my ninth. I was a Deaf Education teacher for seven years prior to getting my Masters degree in counseling. I am currently considered a Licensed Professional Counselor - Intern along with being a Licensed Professional School Counselor. I am being supervised by Eren Turner LPC-S. Her phone number is 940-391-7760. I have been in elementary school education for a total of 24 years. I enjoyed being a classroom teacher but I now thrive in the counselor’s role. I am passionate about helping children grow with a healthy sense of self-confidence, deep happiness and joy while they progress in their academic studies.
I am a mother of four beautiful children and a wife of an incredibly, wonderful man.
As a school counselor I wear many hats (literally) but I believe one of my main roles is to be available to the staff, students and families in any way necessary to ensure a healthy and successful year. I work through a multi-faceted counseling program that consists of many different services. Each service is aimed at helping children learn and develop to their highest potential. Some of the services in the program include:
Classroom Guidance Lessons KG-5th; Group Counseling; Individual Counseling; Developmental Play; “Assembly Style” Character Education Lessons; Teacher and Parent Consultation; Heroes of Compassion (Bi-Weekly group for all 4th and 5th grade girls)...
These are only a few areas of service I offer as your school counselor. I truly feel that a comprehensive, developmental guidance and counseling program is vital to the achievement of excellence in the education of all students.
In conclusion I have so much love and respect for the staff at E.P. I treasure every moment we pour into the lives of our students and I am always amazed at the quality and involvement of our parents and community. We work so diligently together to make this an amazing school!
Please feel free to contact me if you have a question or concern.
