Guyer's Darby Traylor awarded $1,000 CoServ scholarship

Darby Traylor CoServ Electric has awarded Guyer High School senior Darby Traylor with a $1,000 scholarship as part of its W. Tip Hall Jr. Scholarship Program, which honors a longtime educator, preacher and legislator.

The W. Tip Hall Jr. Scholarship Program annually awards scholarships to local graduating high school students who have an established CoServ connection and will attend a college or university in the state of Texas. Its namesake served on the CoServ Electric Board of Directors for 10 years and was a three-term state representative, serving from 1978-81 as well as 1983-85.

Darby has led a distinguished academic career at Guyer, having been named an AP Scholar and December 2014 Student of the Month during the current school year. He will graduate from Guyer at the school’s graduation ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday, June 5, at the University of North Texas Coliseum.
