District partnering with city for summer children’s food program

Denton Independent School District and the City of Denton Parks & Recreation Department are partnering for a summer food program that will last from June 8 to varying dates from late June to mid-August and provide children ages 18 and younger with free lunch meals.

The program, run by the parks department, will begin at most locations on Monday, June 8, with two additional locations offering the program on Tuesday, June 9. All locations that offer the program will provide a free lunch at least Monday through Thursday each week.
