380 Back-2-School Bash kickoff event set for Aug. 18

Denton Independent School District will host its seventh annual 380 Back-2-School Bash at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Navo Middle School for families to enjoy fun activities in advance of the coming school year.

The event is geared for students and families residing in the eastern portion of Denton ISD as a way to get reconnected in a fun-filled atmosphere with school staff, administrators and local businesses before the start of the new school year. Parking will be available at the school, located at 1701 Navo Road in Aubrey, with the majority of activities located near the cafeteria area.

This year’s 380 Bash will feature music, games and a variety of food options from several local restaurants. Various local businesses and departments within Denton ISD will also be on hand to give information on the services they provide and answer questions about district growth and programs.

Attending students and their families will have the opportunity visit with their school principals, including the district’s newest additions: Julio Lopez at Providence Elementary, Mario Layne at Navo Middle School and Lesli Guajardo at Braswell High School. Braswell High, Denton ISD’s fourth comprehensive high school, is slated to open fall of 2016.

All proceeds from the evening go directly to the eastern Denton ISD schools – Cross Oaks, Providence, Paloma Creek and Savannah elementary schools and Navo Middle School – and help them with their general activity funds.
