Student voting for Braswell school colors, mascot now open

Future students of Braswell High School can now vote for the school’s colors and mascots, with the final results tentatively scheduled to be revealed in September.

An email containing a link to vote for the school’s colors and mascot has been sent to the Denton Independent School District accounts of students in fourth to 10th grade who are zoned for Navo Middle School and will attend Braswell. Those include students at Cross Oaks, Paloma Creek, Providence Village and Savannah elementary schools; Navo Middle School; and some students at Denton and Ryan high schools.

Some students may have to wait until the first day of school to vote, as email accounts are being updated for the coming school year. Each student has a single vote for a mascot choice and color choice, with voting scheduled to close at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28.

The mascot and color options are as follows:
  • Badgers
  • Bengals
  • Bison
  • Bruins
  • Buccaneers
  • Crimson and white
  • Light blue and white
  • Maroon and black
  • Orange and black
  • Red and black
Braswell High School will be Denton ISD’s fourth comprehensive high school as well as its first not located within the city of Denton. Currently under construction in the town of Little Elm at the intersection of U.S. Highway 380 and Navo Road, Braswell will also be the easternmost high school for the district.

The school is scheduled to open in August 2016.
