FEMA to work with students on satellite testing on Oct. 8
Members of the local office of the Federal Emergency Management Agency will be setting up and demonstrating their mobile satellite system in the parking area of the LaGrone Advanced Technology Complex at 8 a.m. and at noon on Thursday, Oct. 8.
The demonstration will be for students who are enrolled in a National Disaster Planning course, part of the Law Enforcement and Emergency Management certification courses offered at the campus. Students will be able to work with FEMA staff and get a better understanding of how they would handle emergency communications on site.
The LaGrone ATC’s purpose is to provide high school juniors and seniors with professional training and ultimately help students earn certifications or licensures in one or more of the campus’ core areas.
