Denton ISD bands join for annual ‘Sounds of the Stadium’ concert on Oct. 26

Bands from all 10 of Denton ISD’s comprehensive secondary schools – seven middle schools and three high schools – will join for a special free performance on Oct. 26 when they host the 11th annual “Sounds of the Stadium” concert in coordination with the University of North Texas band.

Hosted by C.H. Collins Stadium at 1500 Long Road in Denton, the concert begins at 6:30 p.m. and is scheduled to last an hour and a half with performances from each middle school band, high school marching band and UNT Green Brigade marching band. Middle and high school bands will perform in clusters, with each high school being supported by its area middle schools.

The Guyer cluster will kick off the concert at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Denton cluster at 6:50 p.m. and the Ryan cluster at 7:10 p.m. The UNT Green Brigade will end the show with its performance at 7:30 p.m.

“Sounds of the Stadium” annually serves as a way for the Denton ISD community to enjoy the district’s three high school marching bands on a single night, with middle school bands added in recent years to increase the musical experience. The concert serves as a local culmination of a busy UIL marching band season, as only the state meet in San Antonio follows it.

Denton High School will no longer be able to participate in the “Sounds of the Stadium” concert as its UIL area contest has been moved to the same day. For more information on that performance, click here.
