Ryan staff hopes College Week will spark holiday conversations

The counseling staff at Ryan High School purposefully planned College Week leading up to Thanksgiving Break in an effort to prompt students to talk with their families about their post-graduation plans. All students will take part in College Week Nov. 16-20.

“We know that the following week, homes in our community will be filled with family members visiting loved ones. And, we want our students to be prepared to answer the question ‘Where are you going to college?’ when a family member asks,” said Angela Clouse, Ryan’s career counselor.

The week’s activities will compliment an on-campus College Fair during lunch periods. More than ten colleges and universities have already committed to attend.

Students will play Mascot BINGO during lunch, and complete a staff Scavenger Hunt to get them to start talking about schools.
