Denton ISD hosting first district Day of Champions meet on March 24

Denton ISD’s special education department will host the district’s first Day of Champions meet ever on Thursday, March 24, where students in special education programs can take part in athletic competitions.

The meet will begin at 10 a.m. March 24 and is scheduled to last until roughly 1 p.m. All activities will take place at Guyer High School, located at 7501 Teasley Lane in Denton. Most event competitions will take place on the campus track, located behind the main school building. Because the event is a Day of Champions meet, it is open to most students with disabilities, either intellectual or physical in nature.

Denton ISD’s Day of Champions meet replaces the district’s annual Partner P.E. Field Day and will feature students from each Denton ISD middle school and high school.

For more information about the Day of Champions meet or to volunteer to assist managing one of the meet’s competitions, please contact Sandra Hensley, event coordinator, at shensley@dentonisd.org.
