Guyer band hosting spring concert, elementary bash in early May

Guyer High School’s band program will host two major events – its annual spring show and a bash for elementary students – in early May to cap its musical season.

The spring concert will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, in the school auditorium, located at 7501 Teasley Lane in Denton. Admission is free, with the concert featuring an eclectic array of music from composers such as Frank Ticheli, Samuel Hazo and Karl King as well as music from the “Star Trek Into Darkness” soundtrack.

Following the spring concert, the program will host its Band Bash and Bazaar for elementary students from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7. The event, which will take place in the school’s B parking lot, will feature live bands from Guyer and its feeder middle schools, a craft fair, an instrument petting zoo, food, and games.
