Many schools limiting visitor access during STAAR testing
Many Denton ISD schools will limit visitor access during STAAR testing for the weeks of May 2 and May 9, with some schools closing access to visitors – including parents and guardians – for the benefit of test-taking students.
In order to ensure a distraction-free testing environment, some schools may not allow any visitors for the duration of testing. STAAR testing will take place at high schools Monday, May 2, to Friday, May 6, for a testing window for three exams. The following week, elementary and middle schools will begin testing on Monday, May 9. Elementary and high schools will test Tuesday, May 10, while all campus levels – elementary, middle and high – will have exams on Wednesday, May 11. On Thursday, May 12, only middle schools will have testing.
Friday, May 13, will serve as a make-up day for students of all grade levels who missed scheduled STAAR testing dates earlier in the week.
