Final school week schedule includes Memorial Day off, early releases

Denton Independent School District campuses will operate on end-of-the-year schedules during the final week of school and have Monday, May 30, off in observance of Memorial Day.

All schools and facilities will be closed May 30 in observance of Memorial Day, with students and staff returning to schools and facilities at their regular times on Tuesday, May 31. Secondary students will resume their classes on Tuesday with an “A” day schedule.

Both Tuesday, May 31, and Wednesday, June 1, will serve as early-release days for secondary students. On these days, middle school students will be released at 12:30 p.m., while high school students will be released at 12:55 p.m. Elementary students will not be released early these days.

The final day of school – Thursday, June 2 – will be a districtwide early-release day. Middle and high school students will be released at the same times as the previous two days, while elementary students will be released at 12:50 p.m.

All schools will begin at their regular times for the final week of school.

Following the final day of classes, Denton, Ryan and Guyer high schools will hold their graduation ceremonies on Friday, June 3, at the University of North Texas Coliseum. The district’s alternative learning high school, Fred Moore, will host its graduation at UNT’s Gateway Center on Wednesday, June 1.
