Guyer Cheer to host junior cheerleading clinic on Jan. 21

Guyer High School’s cheerleaders will host a junior cheerleading clinic for students in kindergarten through fifth grade at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, in the schools’ gyms.

Students who take part in the clinic will have a fun morning of cheer instruction and learn various skills such as jumps, motions, dances and cheers. The Guyer Wildcat Junior Cheerleaders will also get the thrill of performing a show-off for parents at 11:30 a.m. that Saturday in the competition gym, as well as perform their cheer at a home varsity Wildcat basketball game on Tuesday, Jan. 24, against McKinney High School.

Registration is $35 per participant, with $15 for each additional sibling, and can be submitted with a check made out to GHS Cheer and placed in the silver box at the Guyer High front office. Included in the registration is the clinic, a Guyer cheerleading T-shirt and admission to the basketball game on Jan. 24.

Check in and late registration will also be available the day of the clinic beginning at 8:30 a.m. Please note that only registrations submitted by Friday, Jan. 6, will be guaranteed an accurate shirt size.
