I am one of five First grade teachers here at Ryan Elementary.
For those who don't know me, let me tell you a little about myself.  I grew up in Southern California spending all my free time at the sandy beaches of Hermosa Beach.  In 1982, my family decided to move to Albuquerque, New Mexico when I was 20 years old.  I met my husband, John, in 1994  who was a transplant from England.  Making the decision to attend college, John and I left Albuquerque to move to Las Cruces to attend New Mexico State University.  Graduating in 1997, I had the opportunity to move Texas and work for Denton ISD.
Moving to Texas was a big decision for my husband and I, but we did it.  My first teaching position was at Hodge Elementary in 3rd grade.  Then Ryan Elementary opened and I was hired to teach 3rd grade our first year.
I have been at Ryan since 2001 and this is my sixth year teaching first grade and I love it!!!
In my free time, I love spending it with my family with consists of my husband John, and my three fur children, Ollie Monster, Mike and Finn.  We love to camp and hike.  Something that we started a few years ago is Geocaching!  I love trying to find treasures that have been hidden by other people.  We have found several in Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, South Dakota,  and of course, Texas.  When the weather is not too hot, we like to take our kayak out on the lakes or ride our motorcycles to some place we have not been to in Texas.
