Welcome to Blanton Elementary - - a TEA 'Exemplary' campus! My name is Karen Satterwhite and it is an honor to call myself your child's principal.  I have been at Blanton since 2008 when the school opened its doors for the first time.  Prior to that, I served as building principal for 6 years in Keller ISD, then 4 years in Crowley ISD, while also teaching Educational Psychology at TCU.  During my teaching years, I taught first, second and third grades, along with two years as a fourth grade gifted/talented teacher, then five years as a Reading/Dyslexia Specialist.  I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree from Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!!!) and my Masters of Education/Mid-Management Certification from the University of North Texas.  My husband and I have made North Texas our home - - - along with our daughter Ashton, two very spoiled dogs (Zoe and Anna Belle), 2 miniature donkeys, 3 goats, 8 Black Angus cows (all with names of course!), and a bull named Fred!!
Blanton was founded on the belief that all children entrusted to our school belong to all of us to educate and nurture as they pass through our doors.  A true team approach is utilized as the best instructional practices are sought out.  We believe that our strength as a Professional Learning Community  - - - and our desire to collectively serve the students and families of this community - - allows us to maintain high goals for student learning and provide quality instructional experiences across all disciplines.  The Blanton Noble Knights are the best of the best and I feel very blessed to share in their educational journey.  Please know that I am here for your children and I am here for you as supportive parents, grandparents, and guardians.  I encourage you to get involved at and volunteer in whatever capacity you are able.  I look forward to meeting you  and as our school songs states, "We are the Noble Knights with Pride in our School"!!
