What is GoGuardian?
GoGuardian Teacher provides teachers with a portal to direct students' attention to specific online resources and close off-topic tabs on one or more devices. The goal of GoGuardian for Teachers is to help keep students on-task and away from inappropriate content. Please note that GoGuardian is not meant to replace the role of the classroom teacher in monitoring their classroom or traditional classroom management strategies.
GoGuardian cannot be used to monitor students at home, using the teacher application. This is only possible inside the Denton ISD network.
When signed into a Chrome browser with a district Google account (@g.dentonisd.org), student and staff web traffic will be filtered, regardless of whether or not they are on their home network. Browsing activity, however, is not reported to the district when done outside of the Denton ISD network. This is to ensure student and staff privacy when on their home networks is protected.

A student is stuck in another teacher's scene, what do I do?
If a student transferred to your campus or class, they may be "stuck" in another teacher's active scene. Please submit a Heat Ticket or reach out to your DLS.
When in a session, the most recently applied Scene will take control of what a student can browse. But, if a student gets stuck in the previous session while showing up in yours, here are a few quick fixes:
If you do not have a Scene applied, and students are still being restricted, it could indicate that the Scene from the prior teacher's class is applying. If so, you’ll see a banner at the top of the screen that lets you clear all Scenes for your students in your active session. Click “Clear Scene” to remove all Scenes from students in your active class session.
If your scene is applied, but some students still have different restrictions, you’ll see a banner with the option to refresh your Scene for all students in your active session. Click “Refresh Scene” to apply your Scene to all students in your active class session.
This GoGuardian Help Guide walks you through these troubleshooting steps.
What do I do if a student's screen is saying "offline" in an active session?
The "Student is Offline" Status indicates that the student's school account is not currently connected to any GoGuardian services. Here are a few troubleshooting tips:
Ensure students are connected to Denton ISD Wifi as this is the only way to monitor them
Ensure students are logged in with their Denton ISD Google Account
Ensure students are logged into their Denton ISD Google Account, and not another students.
Ensure you do not have an Adblocker installed on Chrome. Adblocker Extensions will make it appear that students are offline, even when they are active.

As the Semester/Year comes to a close, there are some best practices we recommend for GoGuardian Teacher.
In addition to cleaning up your Classroom dashboard, this will stop any pre-scheduled classes from running and will cut down on overlap of scenes with other teachers.
